The Nuggets are the clear cut favorites here and for a myriad of reasons. They had the better regular season, the better post-season and have what is largely considered the most talented team in the league. They have been the favorites to win the NBA championship for much of this year.
Currently they are -410 to beat the Miami Heat who are +330 at BetUS.com. Still, betting against the Heat this post-season has not been a very profitable decision. They have dominated most of their opponents and were able to hold off the Boston Celtics who were a -7.5 point favorite in game 7 on Sunday.
In game 1 the Nuggets are -9 point favorites on the NBA betting line. Judging by that line you can pretty much guarantee that the Nuggets will be favored in every game from here on out. Even at Miami they will be 3-5 point favorites. Can’t Miami get any respect? Miami beat the two teams favored above the Nuggets to win it all (Boston +310 & Milwaukee +265). At the start of the playoffs Miami could be found for odds as high as +30,000.
